Pastor Brandon

Brandon Marten is the Senior Pastor and Teacher at Starting Grounds Church, where he is blessed to indulge his passion to teach the Bible and to share the love of Jesus with anyone who will listen.  He hopes that Starting Grounds will continue to be a place where all people are welcome to come and discover the wonderful character and nature of God while forging deep relationships with other people in the community.

Brandon is blessed to have a strong and loving family.  He has been married to his beautiful wife Bekah for 14 years.  Together they have two boys – Jack, 10 and Alex, 8.  His experiences as a husband and father have given him a tremendous heart for young families and the issues we all face on a daily basis.  His vision is to see Starting Grounds Church deeply affect the city of Battle Ground by being a community of people who help each other amidst the everyday struggles of life.

Pastor Todd

Todd McArthur is the Associate Pastor and Worship Leader at Starting Grounds Church. Todd was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 2005 with a degree in Theology and Worship Leadership. Todd has served at two churches in Nampa, Idaho as a Worship Leader and moved back to Clark County to be a part of Starting Grounds Church in December 2008.  Todd has been fortunate to lead worship with a variety of talented musicians in a variety of settings around the world and across the Northwest.

Todd and his beautiful wife Tara were married in December 2009.  They have two kids, Jude and Ivy, born in March of 2012.  They live in a little cottage on the Salmon Creek.

Bekah Marten

Bekah Marten is the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Starting Grounds Church. In this role, she is able to do many of the things she loves: develop curriculum for each of the Sunday school classes, teach and spend time with the kids at Starting Grounds Church, and most importantly share with the kids the love that Jesus has for each of them. It is Bekah’s hope and prayer that each child who comes to Starting Grounds Church will see that they can have a personal and life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Bekah has been been married to her amazing husband Brandon for 14 years. They have two boys – Jack, 10 and Alex 8. When she’s not busy chasing after her fun loving boys, you will find her puttering around her garden, working on a new quilt, or buried deep into a book.
