What to Expect
We welcome you to visit us on Sunday mornings. We want you to feel comfortable at Starting Grounds Church, so we’ve outlined what you can expect when you visit. You can also take a look around our building through our image gallery.
There is ample parking surrounding the building. Additional parking is also available across Parkway Avenue in our overflow lot.
One word has always been used to describe Starting Grounds Church – friendly. Our people are committed to hospitality and generosity. When you visit, you will be sure to find people with smiling faces and open arms.
We have two identical services at 9:30 and 11:15. Each week, brunch is served at 10:45 in our full-service coffee shop between services. Brunch is our fellowship gathering and we welcome you to stay after or come a little early and mingle with others in our church.
Our goal is to teach children about the love of Jesus in an age-appropriate teaching style. Children’s church is available at the 11:15 service for kids age 3 – 5th grade. A nursery attendant is also available for children under age 3 during second service. Children are always welcome to sit with their parents at our 9:30 service.
Our services are relaxed, engaging and generally last about an hour. We open service with songs and prayer. Lyrics are projected on screens at the front of the sanctuary. Feel free to engage in this time in whatever manner you feel comfortable. After this time, we take a short break to meet and greet one another. The sermon usually lasts 25 – 30 minutes. Bible passages are also projected on the screens at the front of the sanctuary. Additionally, hard-copy Bibles are available on the tables if you would like to use one.
We are committed to teaching about a dynamic life changing experience with Jesus. We do this by teaching weekly from the Bible and connecting it to the practical aspects of daily life. Don’t know much about the Bible? Don’t worry. Our goal is to make each sermon easy to understand and meaningful to all people – regardless of their church experience.
Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional songs performed using acoustic instruments. The result is an authentic and unique experience that makes it easy in which to participate. Lyrics are projected onto the screens at the front of the sanctuary in case you want to sing along.
